Every year in the UK approximately 27 million exam results from SATs, GCSEs and A-levels are compiled into the School Performance Tables. RM Results is trusted by the Department of Education in England to help create these School Performance Tables, which are used to influence Westminster policy decisions.
Our role is to work with this vast amount of critical, highly sensitive data to validate and match it to other reference data, such as the School Census Data, to ensure that all results are aligned with the correct student records. We also provide a helpdesk service to schools who have any questions around the whole process.
In 2006, RM Results joined forces with the schools regulatory body for the UK, Ofsted, and the Department for Education to design a secure, online reporting system that offers insight into the performance of schools and local authorities. The system, RAISEonline, is the primary distribution channel supporting the new inspection process established by Ofsted.
RAISEonline is used by schools, governors and Ofsted inspectors to download information on individual schools for reporting purposes. We calculate the individual reports based on key measures identified by Ofsted and DfE on a yearly basis. Almost 12 million reports have been downloaded in the past 12 months.
The Department for Education appointed RM Results to deliver the 2015 PISA and TIMMS programmes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in partnership with the Institute of Education, University of London, Stephen Austin and World Class Arena Ltd (WCAL).
PISA (The Programme for International Student Assessment) is an international comparisons study which measures the knowledge and skills of 15 year olds in the areas of maths, reading and science.
TIMSS (Trends in International Maths and Science Study) is a separate but complimentary study which collects information on students’ performance in and attitudes towards curriculum, study and school resources, in the areas of maths and science. Assessments and questionnaires are distributed to children aged 9-10 and 13-14 years old.
RM Results was responsible for the recruitment and retention of schools across the UK. We also helped guide schools through the testing process and provided test administrators on test day.
