We are proud to announce that we have won the Digital: Expanded Service or Application category at this year’s London Design Awards for the design and development of RM Assessor³.
Now in its seventh year, the London Design Awards, hosted by DrivenxDesign, celebrates the role of design in enriching the human experience. DrivenxDesign has a global community of over 75,000 members, 5,000 brands and 1,500 studies, and this win signifies the growing importance of design in delivering a fantastic user experience (UX) in a digital product, including in the assessment sector.
After many successful years of use, it was time to refresh RM Assessor, and consider the needs of the next generation of examiners. With the help of UK-based design consultancy White October, we set about creating an e-assessment solution that is intuitive and can be used on a device of the user’s choosing.
After conducting an in-depth research and consultancy phase, an agile programme was developed to deliver the award winning UX design of RM Assessor3, including tablet-device friendly features such as touch and gesture navigation.
To ensure that the design was fit for purpose, extensive user testing with practising examiners was conducted. This included interviews with examiners from a range of subject disciplines to understand better how they mark, ensuring that the user workflow is intuitive and efficient.
The first live pilot of RM Assessor³ saw more than 100 examiners across 49 countries use the new software to mark real-life candidate assessments. The response so far has been extremely positive, with 97% of examiners saying they found RM Assessor³ easy to use.
Commenting on the win, Richard Little, Product Development Director at RM Results states:
“We are in exciting times, where technology and innovation are creating infinite possibilities. For RM Results, this win recognises the hard work our team has undertaken with White October and our commitment to making assessment scoring as user-friendly as possible. The response to RM Assessment³ so far has been extremely positive from awarding bodies and examiners alike.”
Dave Fletcher, CEO White October said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award on behalf of our client RM Results. The rollout for RM Assessor3 had to be really well planned because of the high-stakes nature of exam marking, meaning we had to remove as much risk from the migration process as possible. The end results of examiners rating their experience highly with 100% adoption 12 months earlier than scheduled and RM Result increasing their reach could not have been better.”
